I started my business 8 years ago when a friend asked me to photograph his wedding, and overnight a hobby started making me money. I started taking wedding and family photography bookings at weekends, and honed my skills. In the meantime I got married, had two children, and in July 2022 I quit my 15 year teaching career to make photography my full time work. Working in a school couldn’t offer me the flexibility I craved for my family life, and I consider myself very lucky to have found a second career full of creative people and opportunity.

My family are my ‘why’ – I want to be present for the milestones and the not so big things too, to be at the school gates every afternoon. I can also be creative on my own terms in this freelance world. I get to enjoy mornings at home rather than rushing out the door at 7am, I can swim in the lido whenever I want, and I can choose who I work with. I love to be outdoors – I’m a country girl and my heart will always belong to the wild, as much as I love everything Hackney has to offer. Every year I support women’s charities and community groups through my work, as I believe we all need a sisterhood. I’ve joined the Club looking to make more IRL connections with creatives in different industries, as I know that we all benefit in our businesses and lives when we share ideas and expertise.
